Operating the farmers market has been a challenge, but I’m amazed by the number of families, and customers, and visitors that are maintaining physical distancing while still keeping social connections going, so it’s been a good experience.

[Nancy]

*laughing*

[Interviewer]

How has Covid-19 impacted your daily life?

[Nancy]

It has been an interesting twist and turn. Operating the farmers market has been a challenge, but I’m amazed by the number of families, and customers, and visitors that are maintaining physical distancing while still keeping social connections going, so it’s been a good experience. Not what I would’ve wished for, but…

[Interviewer]

Yeah it’s kind of neat to see how people are keeping up their interpersonal relationships.

[Nancy]

They are. That’s a good thing.

[Interviewer]

What did you under-appreciate before Covid and what do you appreciate now?

[Nancy]

Hmm… I think still again I’m surprised and pleased by the people and the way thei- the kindness of others. yep.

[Interviewer]

Like how the community- How much empathy the community has?

[Nancy]

The community has been wonderful. Supportive and kind.

[Interviewer]

How do you think the pandemic will change society once it’s over?

[Nancy]

I’m not going on my cruise!

*laughing*

Selfishly!

I won’t be travelling in the next little while!

[Interviewer]

Did you at least get it refunded?

[Nancy]

Yes! Yes,  I did!

Just got in the bank account, yep!

[Interviewer]

How did isolation affect you and how has it affected your relationship with family?

[Nancy]

It’s been really good! We couldn’t see our grandson because he is a heart-transplant child and we don’t want to take a chance at that. But the other grandkids- we have one granddaughter that’s been in our circles, she’s in our house everyday, so that wasn’t a problem. The other ones down the street came and we did Tic-Tac-Toe on the front window! They’re on the window and I'm on the other side and we maintain…

[Interviewer]

Yeah that’s good!

[Nancy]

So that was good. Really good.

[Interviewer]

What pre-Covid memory keeps you hopeful and what possible future keeps you going?

[Nancy]

Oh gosh! Probably grandkids.

The grandkids, yeah.

[Interviewer]

Having all the little ones running around and…

[Nancy]

*laughing*

Yes it’s wonderful!

Yeah, homeschooling I’m not so crazy about but…
